Myself and friend ordered the soft shell crab burger (this is what I really wanted to try) and the haloumi and mushroom burger.
The burgers were a decent size for a lunch time meal (similar size to the Press* burger) and similarly priced (about $12-14). The haloumi and mushroom burger was delicious however the bun became a little soggy given the high water content of the mushroom.
The soft shell crab intrigued me as I love soft shell crab but never considered it as a filling for a burger. It wasn't too bad. The batter could have been lighter and a little more generous with the crab, but it was an interesting take on a traditional Asian dish.
Overall, these were interesting takes on the burger so if you are interested in trying something a little different give it a go (there are a total of four burgers on the menu) and see what you think! My overall opinion is they are a nice try, but probably stick to the beef version if you want a guaranteed win. Our review of the beef version was part of our Adelaide Burger Round up # 1.
However, in the interest of continuing to try everything, I will be going back to try the pulled pork burger as that sounds very appetising!
Mirko gives these burgers 14/20 chops on the chopping board.
