BY BLACKBIRD - SHOP 4/100 KING WILLIAM ROAD, GOODWOOD, SA
By Blackbird has always been a Adelaide dessert spot that our Chopping Board team has discussed but for some reason have never gotten around to trying - so I, Mirko, decided to bite the bullet and give this dessert spot a go.Like many of the haunts on King William Road, Adelaide, this location is quite small and can get very busy. We arrived before the rush and before you know it, the place was packed.

Latte, plum crumble and brownie - $15 (approx) |
First to taste was the brownie. The orange flavour was definitely apparent in the brownie however was not overpowering. The pistachio cream was also very subtle in flavour and made for a good combination. Whilst the size of the brownie appeared to be small, it was quite rich and therefore I think was the perfect size. This brownie also came with a vanilla cream.
Second on the menu was the plum crumble. The plum crumble was nice and tart and was a good second alternative which allowed me to cleanse my palette from the rich brownie. The pastry was short and overall a nice, tasty dish. Plum crumble also came in apricot and apple alternatives.
Ambiance: 3.5/5 - Cute location, nice catch up for friends - but difficult for large groups (we had 5)
Service: 3/5 - Standard service
Food: 7/10 - Tasty desserts, but a little limited in range.
Overall, Mirko gives By Blackbird 13.5/20 chops on the chopping board.

I love this place!
