Quick Chop - Cow & Co: Froyo? FRO-YES!

Cow and Co - 29 King William Street, Adelaide 5000

Confession - I (Jess) am a Froyo fiend. To the unacquainted Froyo is frozen yoghurt served with an assortment of toppings with the end goal to make something moderately healthy into something that resembles once in 2 years type food. This is achieved with thick chocolate sauces, chocolates, lollies, nuts and more. There are currently four places I know of that specialise in Froyo, these being Menchies in Myer Centre food court, Fruizberry on Jetty Rd Glenelg, a place in Marion that you can get free Froyo if you can guess the weight and Cow & Co - the feature of today's post.

Cow & Co has been open for around 4 to 6 weeks and is down the Festival Theatre end of King William St. Towards the back wall are 3 Froyo stations serving around 6 flavours. Generally, I go for original and let the toppings speak for themselves. However, this time I chose a mix of biscotti and original - also because it's self serve you can get all 6 if you choose to! The original flavour was the best I have ever had, being dense, creamy and with a good level of tang. It also held together and melted slower than other Froyos I have had. In contrast, the biscotti was a a little on the runny side and melted too quickly to allow for a slow savor. I have found with anything other than original the Froyo is usually too sweet, with biscotti being no exception.

Cow & Co also has a good variety of toppings, including some for the health conscious, such as organic chocolate, an assortment of fruits, goji berries, mochi, flaked almonds and these little seed things called buckinis - don't know what they are but they add a delightful texture to the Froyo mix.

I really rate Cow & Co's Froyo and have been back 5 or so times since my first encounter (once a week really....). And hot tip - you can get a buy one get one free by flashing your Entertainment Card.
