Nettle Raw Cafe - 10 Rosetta St, West Croydon, SA

There's little better than cruising around Facebook on a Friday *ahem* I mean working hard on a Friday and stumbling across a new vegan eating join in Adelaide. This exact thing happened to me just last week.

Nettle Raw Cafe

Nettle Raw Cafe is a sweet little cafe in West Croydon, tucked in amongst a group of shops and when I walked in, I could tell it was almost brand new. The lovely ladies behind the counter were eager to tell me about the awesome specials, show me the crisp menu and let me know about the juice special. I ordered the soup on special and the special juice.

Inside is perfect. A clean, very well designed and maintained 70's inspired interior made to feel like a home, complete with a comfy couch. Meticulously clean tables are surrounded by matching chairs. I have no idea where they found this stuff but it's simply amazing and in brilliant condition.

Juice at Nettle Raw Cafe, West Croydon
Grapefruit, lemon and wheatgrass juice

My grapefruit, lemon and wheatgrass juice arrived in a cute jar with a metal straw. All the juices are cold pressed and made to order, there was even a little extra left from the juicer that they gave me as a little bonus - it's the little things that make me want to come back again and again.

Tomato and kale soup at Nettle Raw Cafe, West Croydon
Hot soup and rye bread

My kale and tomato soup with rye bread had obviously been made with love and hit the spot on a cold, rainy day. My rye bread was topped with a deliciously sweet and oily something and pepitas. I have no idea what it was and I really should've asked but it was simply delicious.

Before I left, I bought a chocolate caramel ball and a chocolate raspberry ball. They were the perfect 'on the road' snack between meetings and satisfied my 3pm sugar craving.

Nettle Raw Cafe is one of those suburban gems people like to keep to themselves in case it gets too busy and they can't get their favourite lunch time table. Don't be one of those people, support the guys who are producing beautiful, homemade food with love.

Ambiance - 4.5/5: It's warm, homely, well designed and incredibly clean.
Service - 5/5: Enthusiastic, above and beyond and efficient. What more can you ask?
Food: 9.5/10: This is picking hairs but my soup was super hot, too hot to eat in a hurry.

In total, Tom gives Nettle Raw Cafe 19/20 chops on The Chopping Board.
