Nanyang Cafe – Rundle Mall, Shop 26 Renaissance Arcade
Nanyang Cafe in the Renaissance Arcade is always busy, always. From 11am to 2pm, there’s a line, sometimes out the door, with lots of Uni students and business folk, lining up to get a table and some delicious noodles and roast meat. Jess has previously reviewed it here. This particular lunch, I was feeling like some roast duck, so along with two work friends, we headed to Nanyang at about 12:30. When we arrived, we joined the line at the door, and within a few minutes we had a table up the stairs. All being experienced Nanyang’ers, we were quick to order.
Roast Duck & Noodles |
Fulfilling my craving, I ordered the roast duck and noodles. At $9.00, it’s a great #cheapeat. The duck is tender. The noodles offer the necessary avenue for the sweetish soy gravy that’s included, and some bok choy to get you closer to your daily serving of vegetables. As you can see from the picture, the serving size is very good.
Time and time again, Nanyang is consistent and great value. It's not the 'best' at everything, but it's the same everytime you go. It’s a regular lunch venue when I'm in need of a quick lunch and a walk through along the mall.
Nathan gives Nanyang Cafe 13.5/20 chops on The Chopping Board.
