Jack Greens - 36 Waymouth Street, Adelaide SA 5000
Deciding to get my superfood on one Monday lunch, I (Amanda) stroll into Jack Greens expecting to get just another run of the mill salad...but boy was I wrong! I am greeted by a smiling face holding an iPad and I am asked what I would like to order... Kimchi Chicken Salad please! Like anything else stood a chance against the kimchi (remember my love of all things pickled)! This is recorded and sent straight to the kitchen where after a short wait in line, another smiling face calls my name and begins creating my salad masterpiece!

Part of the Salad Counter |
I watch while my trusty well educated salad maker puts together all the measured ingredients into a large stainless steel bowl. From here it is placed in line for an expert in salad dressing to take over! I am asked if I would like the light, medium or heavy dressing option. I request light but after seeing the light dosage I change this to medium because lets face it, I want to be healthy but not that healthy! One last decision of whether I would like complimentary sourdough bread with that... of course, then payment and off on my merry way back to work.

Loving the environmentally friendly and recyclable takeaway packaging for my salad I almost feel like skipping back to work! Who would have thought picking up a quick takeaway salad could be so much fun!

Kimchi Chicken Salad $14.50 |
The Kimchi Chicken salad from the winter menu consists of
kimchi, roasted chicken, brown rice, rocket leaves,
avocado, cashews, carrot, spicy broccoli and a raw seed mix mixed with a chilli vinegar dressing. Loved it! Not only was it a very generous serving size it had a good balance of filling ingredients like the brown rice, seed mix and roasted chicken with the nutritious greens of rocket, avocado and broccoli. The kimchi added great
acidity along with the vinegar dressing. The
hint of chilli added some heat and interest to the salad and the seed mix gave good crunch. I finished the salad feeling very satisfied and vitamin enriched!
Jack Green's aim is to provide fun and tasty food and they are doing this very well. As soon as I stepped into Jack's I was instantly bopping to the funky surround sound music, enjoying the modern green space, having a laugh with the salad creators and was excited for my tasty, healthy and freshly made salad. With so many options on the menu including soups and some special curries for winter it won't be long before I'm back and next time to sit in and enjoy more of the ambiance.
