My Kingdom for a Horse - 191 Wright Street, Adelaide SA 5000
One Sunday afternoon after a long, slow rise from a big Saturday night, I (Amanda) meet friends at My Kingdom for a Horse (MKH) for a recovery feast. It's a lovely sunny spring day and the light beaming through this corner cafe gives the place a warming happy vibe. It's quite a large cafe compared to all the quirky little lunch and brunch spots that have been popping up lately - great for large groups and for mum's with prams. And what's even better is that it's table service so this hangover victim doesn't have to rise from her seated coma!
I order an almond milk latte and sourdough toast with roasted heirloom tomatoes, avocado, lime, sea salt and a poached egg. The coffee comes out first and I notice the almond milk has separated and looks curdled. I've heard this can happen with almond milk coffees but I've not yet experienced it as my regular almond milk latte from Turi has never split and is always so smooth and creamy. Could it be that they are making their almond milk fresh that this happens...I'm not sure. I know almond milk cannot curdle so I drink away even though it doesn't look pleasant. It's a tad on the watery side and not very creamy. I decide I'd probably order a peppermint tea next time.

I enjoyed my afternoon at MKH and will definitely drop in again next time I'm in the area. It seems like an all round easy place to go, relax and enjoy some decent brunch/lunch type of food.
