Mlkman - restaurant food to your door!

Mlkman - Sukhumvit Soi 38

A few months back, we were invited to the launch of Mlkman, but we were unfortunately unable to attend. We still continued to like their #foodporn pics on instagram, and were lucky enough to then be approached by Mlkman to review their service. We jumped at the chance as we knew they could give us access to some great food, conveniently delivered.

We set about downloading the app from the app store to our iPhone, (it is not currently available on an Android device), logged in and viewed a list of restaurants that we could order from.  Currently delivery is only available to CBD addresses.  The usage of the app is very simple, and each menu item on the menu of each restaurant has a decent quality picture associated with it. This makes decision making easier (or harder when all the food looks delicious!).

Our lunch delivery ready for demolishing!

Feeling like Thai today, we settled on Sukhumvit Soi 38 as our lunchtime delivery. We chose two entrees and two mains, and once we had a delivery driver available we placed our order. We found this ordering process relatively simple as adding items to a cart was straightforward and quick. Waiting for a delivery driver was a challenge, as it took away some of the control we had over the process. Once our order was eventually placed, we were provided with an estimated time of arrival, and were updated (ensure notifications are turned on!) when the meal was on it's way. We then eagerly met the delivery driver and took delivery of our meals. The delivery time was pretty accurate, and the meal arrived after ordering in less than 30 minutes. We commented that you would need to have some flexibility in your lunch hour if ordering for work, as delays could mean you need to reshuffle meetings or appointments.

From Sukhumvit we chose the Por Pia Tord (vegetarian spring rolls), Tod Mun (fish cakes), Pad Thai and a Larp Kgai (minced chicken salad). We were pleased to see the meals were delivered still steaming hot and came with plastic cutlery and napkins. The meals were delicious, the Pad Thai our highlight.

We enjoyed the convenience of the Mlkman service, with the ability to have food delivered from popular restaurants within the Adelaide CBD, at a similar standard to eating in. The delivery was prompt, the timing accurate and the experience of ordering through the app was convenient. Having premium restaurant food delivered to your door is pretty cool! We just think you'll need to be mindful of the timing of your lunch / dinner, much like any other delivery service.
