Bombay Duck Co. - 190 Bleecker Street, New York, NY, 10012
Having lived in New York City for almost 6 months now, I (Mirko) had not had the opportunity to venture out and try what New York has to offer in terms of Indian Cuisine. When I mentioned this to a colleague of mine (who is Indian) they offered to take me to one of their favourite Indian spots in Manhattan - Bombay Duck Co.
As we were not all that hungry, we decided that we would have some snack items as well as a curry each. First on the snack menu were the Vada Pao. This was explained to me as a vegetarian fast food dish which consisted of a deep fried potato patty burger with a garlic sauce dressing. The patty held its shape well and coupled with the garlic dressing made for a nice dish and a great start to the meal. Sorry, but couldn't get a picture of the patty itself.

To snack on while we were waiting for our curry, my friends ordered the Masala Fries. The fries were cooked to a golden brown, were crunchy on the outside whilst soft on the inside and that Chaat Masala seasoning is amazing! The right amount of salty, spicy and zesty. So moorish that I could have an entire bowl of these to myself. I actually have to find this Masala seasoning so I can make these at home!

After looking at the curries, I opted for the Chicken Curry with the Garlic naan. The curry was well spiced, whilst not being too hot. The curry was thick enough to allow dipping and the chicken itself was nice and tender. All the elements of a good curry - in my opinion. The naan that accompanied the dish was nice and soft with mild garlic flavours which did not overpower the dish. The pickled vegetables added a nice fresh element to the dish.
