Feather's Pavilion - 516 Glynburn Road, Burnside SA 5066
Feather's Pavilion (FP) is a venue I'm regularly driving by, so when I noticed it's modern revamp I (Amanda) couldn't wait to give it a try. FP takes reservations which is convenient, especially when you are planning a catch-up and want to ensure you don't miss out on a table. We arrived at 11am on a Sunday and were seated at our reserved table in the 'sunroom'. This is a floor to ceiling glass room at the front with only ceiling fans to keep us cool on this 39 degree day! Inside, where we ordered at the counter was lovely and cool from the air conditioning but to our disappointment all the tables were full.
We both ordered 'The Espanola' at the counter and returned to our table. As construction is still ongoing on the surrounding outside areas there is not much of a view. So if you are after a location with a view then I recommend you wait to visit until this is completed.
The Espanola $19 |
There were good sized potato and chorizo pieces throughout and the charred corn brought a good smokey flavour to the dish. The pecorino cheese was freshly grated on top and the feta within provided some creamy depth. I enjoyed this dish and it is one that I would order again. I'm not convinced the bread served was sourdough... if it was, it was a very light sourdough version as it didn't have the bulk and chew I was looking for.
Chai Latte with Almond Milk $5 |
I look forward to returning to FP once the outside revamp has been completed. The menu has a little bit of something for everyone and even a dedicated kids menu. A family friendly location with easy food in a new, modern and relaxing venue.
