NYC Quick Chop! Bobby Van's Steakhouse

Bobby Van's Steakhouse, 120 W 45 Street, NYC 10036

A friend of mine from San Francisco was in New York City (NYC) for work, and I (Mirko) was lucky enough to crash her dinner (all expenses paid) and have a steak at Bobby Van's. After perusing the menu, I opt for the Petite Filet - a filet steak served with fries, ketchup and creamed spinach.

Petite Filet - $47
I opt for my steak cooked medium rare and luckily it comes out perfectly cooked. The meat is tender and well seasoned and in my opinion the ketchup is not at all needed. As a result, I did not use the ketchup and let the natural flavours of the meat shine through.

This is also the first time that I have had creamed spinach served with steak and was surprised at how well it worked. The creamed spinach was not overpowering in flavour and complimented the steak well.

I haven't had the chance to visit many steak houses in NYC yet, but this was definitely a good introduction.
