The Original Chinatown Ice Cream Factory - 65 Bayard Street, NYC, 10013
Roaming the streets of New York City (NYC) one Summer's night, I (Mirko) happened to stumble across The Original Chinatown Ice Cream Factory. The concept is simple... provide ice cream to the masses with a Chinese twist. I had heard about this place and when I came across it, I had to try!
So on tonight's menu was the Pandan and Thai Iced Tea flavours with Mochi topping. To those who do not know, Pandan is a South East Asian leaf commonly used in flavouring desserts and Thai Iced Tea is a sweet milk tea with condensed milk. The flavours were nice and coupled with mochi (rice cakes) added some nice chew and texture to my ice cream!
2 flavours - (approx $7). |
With many different (and exotic) flavours available to the public, I would definitely recommend visiting Chinatown Ice Cream Factory for a scoop or two... I will be back to visit to try some of the more interesting flavours on offer. Word of warning, this establishment is cash only so make sure you take some with you!
