Commissary - 160 Fullarton Road, Rose Park SA 5067
A Saturday with no plans... means trying somewhere new for lunch! I (Amanda) decided before a spot of shopping at my favourite Burnside Village, that I would finally try the recently opened Commissary.
Brunch Time! |
Meat & Eggs $19 |
The 'Meat and Eggs' is beef fillet and eggs scrambled together, pickled turnip, cucumber, labneh and za'arta toast. I almost always select poached eggs, so scrambled and with the inclusion of sliced beef fillet was a tasty change. The full of flavour spiced za'arta really takes your standard buttered sourdough toast to another tasty level. Dipping the za'arta toast and the cucumber sticks in the creamy thick labneh was a refreshing break from the heaviness of the meat and eggs, and the pickled turnip adding a great tang to the plate. This dish is almost a breakfast tasting plate, which was both delicious and interesting to eat with the many textures, flavours, and various elements that you could eat with both your hands and your knife and fork. A great sharing dish... but when it's this good, why would you share?!
Smashed Avocado $14 & English Breakfast Tea |
The food at Commissary today was great. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, we just wished we could turn down the volume of the place... maybe next time I would try sitting outside on the decking to see if the traffic isn't as deafening!
