Quick Chop! Breakfast @ Pave

Pave Cafe - 138 The Parade, Norwood, SA 5067

Pave Cafe sits in a small building on the Parade at Norwood. One sunny morning we stopped in at Pave for a quick pre work breakfast. It's a great little cafe, with lots of tables that are partially outside, lots of bike riders coming and going, and a very friendly group of staff running around. And, as you'll read below, a great breakfast to match.

The Weekender $15 w/added smashed avo - $3
Feeling pretty hungry, I chose "The Weekender" with a side of smashed avocado, cos you've got to have your greens every morning they say. The Weekender consists of free range bacon (five slices of it), two baked chilli eggs, baked beans and three pieces of rye toast with melted tasty cheese. The smashed avo was packed full of feta.

When the plate was brought over, I was mightily impressed at the amount of food on the plate. The eggs were served runny, although, I am not sure if they were "baked". The chilli sauce was punchy, the bacon smokey and crunchy, the baked beans slightly sweet, with the cheesy rye bread bringing it it altogether. I am glad I added the avocado, the combination of smooth avo and salty feta meant another level of texture and flavour. It's a breakfast of many different flavours and tastes, one which I would come back for.

Eggs benedict w/ Leg Ham - $15
I was also able to try a bit of the Eggs Benedict also. Aside from the runny eggs and ham, what stood out to me was the hollandaise sauce. The sauce was fresh, punchy and creamy. Next time, there might be a side of hollandaise sauce added to my weekender!

Skim Latte - $3.80
Breakfast was accompanied by a skim latte. Pave use the Rio Coffee 64 blend and BD Farm Paris Creek milk to make a coffee that's slightly sweet and creamy. They've also got a selection of alternative milks, teas and other latte mixes such as Turmeric or Beetroot. Overall, Pave is a great place for a spot of breakfast or brunch, with big serves and delicious food.
