Beach Hotel Seaford - The perfect suburban summer hotspot

Beach Hotel Seaford - Corner of Commercial Road & Griffiths Drive, SA 5169

Previously known as the Seaford Hotel before undergoing a $3 million renovation in 2014, Beach Hotel Seaford ticks all the boxes for a family friendly, relaxed but refined dining experience. When entering the main lobby of the hotel, we immediately felt like we had stepped into a beach house, with chic white-washed furniture, touches of blue and exposed timber throughout. The Beach Hotel Seaford Bistro has a very inviting vibe - perfect for casual dinners on a Summer evening or for a large group for that special occasion! On The Chopping Board (OTCB) was recently invited to have a taste of the new bistro menu, with all food provided on behalf of Beach Hotel Seaford.

Crispy szechaun squid salad - $18.50

There's no doubt that salt and pepper squid is a true Aussie pub classic and one of the most ordered dishes around. Head Chef Daniel at Beach Hotel Seaford has put a great Asian spin on this menu staple with a crispy Chinese szechuan pepper batter encasing perfectly tender squid. Accompanied with a fresh salad of bean sprouts, spring onion, coriander, wom bok and a citrusy Asian-style dressing, this dish ticked all the boxes for a perfect summer evening meal.

Teriyaki tuna - $28.00

One of the dinner specials on the night we visited Beach Hotel Seaford was a teriyaki tuna steak crusted in sesame seeds and served with stir fried veg, bok choy and rice, and it was highly recommended to us by the friendly bistro staff. And we're so glad we tried it! The farmed Australian tuna sourced from Victoria was only slightly seared, leaving a majority of the steak raw - just the way we think tuna should be cooked. The teriyaki glaze was sticky and sweet, and the veg crunchy and fresh. Our neighbouring tables all seemed to be ordering the tuna special, receiving just as perfectly cooked tuna and licking their plates clean. Maybe this dish deserves a permanent spot on the menu!

Half Adelaide Hills free range rotisserie chicken - $22.00

The last (but definitely not least!) dish we tried at Beach Hotel Seaford is their famous signature - the charcoal rotisserie chicken. Half an Adelaide Hills free range chicken was served with fresh oregano, dollops of yoghurt, red wine jus and roasted vegetables. Every part of the chicken was succulent and juicy, with a slightly smokey charcoal flavour throughout. We can definitely see why they are famous for their rotisserie!

This dish would be a good serving size for one person for dinner, or great shared with another rotisserie meat between two people. Other charcoal rotisserie meats on offer are greek style lamb with tzatziki, roasted lemon and red wine jus ($26.00) and marinated pork with cinnamon and apple chutney, pork crackling and a cider mustard seed jus ($26.00). All charcoal rotisserie meats are available for dinner every night of the week, with a rotisserie combo including a 400g Black Angus Scotch available on weekends.

Open 7 days a week, the Beach Hotel Seaford is the perfect Southern suburban hotspot! Featuring a delicious a la carte menu of pub fare, rotisserie and great seafood, live entertainment, fantastic staff, and beautiful outdoor seating for summer nights.
