Arbour Kitchen - Fresh new lunch menu

Arbour Kitchen - 150 Wright Street, Adelaide SA 5000

The season of relaxed morning brunches and languid long lunches is upon us. Already a well known brunch location with their all day breakfast menu; Arbour Kitchen invited us into their restaurant to try their brand new lunch fare. Prioritising seasonal and local produce, they have expanded upon their plant-based options and refining their land-based plates.  All food and beverages were provided on behalf of Arbour Kitchen.

Vegan Chicken Caesar $16

Arbour Kitchen embraces the sunny weather in their large open-plan cafe, with natural light streaming through the floor to ceiling length windows, which creates a wonderful sense of space within the venue, with long tables aligned under a jungle of hanging plants.

Enjoying the hit of Vitamin D, we savoured their Vegan Chicken Caesar Salad - still an intensely flavoured, textual affair despite the plant-based substitutions. A smooth, tangy and rich dressing ties together the crispy soy nuggets, crisp lettuce, sun dried tomatoes, cucumber, candied walnuts and vegan parmesan into a satisfying and filling dish.

Along with the vegan Corn Chip and Black Bean Mexican Salad, Asian-inspired Soba Noodle Salad with seared beef and aromatic quinoa and Black Garlic Roasted Chicken Salad, Arbour’s salad selections offers plenty of vegetable-filled options for those looking for a healthier midday meal.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger $19

Here at On The Chopping Board (OTCB), we know and love our burgers, and the variety of brioche bun enclosed options, such as the sriracha aioli covered Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger, vegan Eggplant Schnitzel Burger with sweet caramelised onion, cheesy Wagyu Beef Burger, and tabouli-strewn Yiros Burger at Arbour are all impressively sized, delicious and served with a side of well-seasoned chips. To customise your meal, there are optional additions such as bacon, egg, onion rings and jalapenos and you can request a gluten free bun if required.

Spaghetti (vegan) $18

Arbour also offer a selection of quality house-made pastas, which includes indulgent tagliatelle with smoked pork hock and candied apple, ocean-inspired linguine with local South Australian prawns, traditional pappardelle with pork and fennel sausage and verdantly herbaceous vegan spaghetti.

If you would like to treat yourself to an alcoholic beverage such as a cocktail, bubbles, wine (owner Damon Nagel’s Brackenwood Vineyard varieties from the Adelaide Hills are worth a sip!) or a local beer from breweries such as Pikes, Pirate Life and Prancing Pony on your visit, Arbour is licenced and happy to assist. Alternatively, their coffees from Bean Revolution will put a spring in your step.

Roast Chicken Salad $17

You can find Arbour Kitchen on the Wright Street corner of Whitmore Square, where they are serving their fresh new lunch menu seven days a week.
